Special programming for your little “sprouts”!  We have two options available:  “Botanical Basics” and “Storyhour in the Garden”.

Option 1: Botanical Basics

“Botanical Basics” is available year round and includes three – 30 minute activities.  The cost is $3 per student and we allow one free adult per every five children; additional adults are $3 each.

1.  Sun Garden:  An interactive tour of our exciting tropical garden!

2.  Greenhouse:  Your students will touch plants, soil and even worms!  Depending on time, students may plant a seedling to take home, be introduced to the parts of a plant, learn what a plant needs to grow, and/or have an opportunity to hold wiggly worms!

3.  How does your Garden Grow?:  The book Tops & Bottoms, adapted and illustrated by Janet Stevens, helps teach students about the parts of plants that we eat.  This interactive activity also lets students match vegetable shapes to their place on our "garden" mural.

Option 2: Storyhour in the Garden

“Storyhour in the Garden” is available during the months of February-March and November-December and includes a nature-themed story, a tea party snack, activity and exploring the Sun Garden.  If time allows, students will also feed the fish.  This program is approximately 90 minutes long and the cost is $4 per student.  We allow one free adult per student for this program.  Additional information about “Storyhour in the Garden” themes is available closer to the program dates.
